Finding Salvation

Yesterday, I went on a little road trip to Calipatria to visit Salvation Mountain. It’s been on my bucket list for a little while now, and since I am unemployed (more on that in a later post), I have more time to travel and take sometime for myself.

The drive took about 3 hours, we left around 9:30a and got there at 12:45p. There weren’t many people there when we showed up, but they did start to come right as we were leaving.

One MAJOR downside to being there at noon, was the smell. At first it smelled kind of like sewage. But as the sun got brighter, the smell got way worse. I’m not really sure where the smell was coming from, but I have to assume it’s from all the RVs and encampments in the area.

Overall, it was a nice little road trip. I’m trying to decide where I want to go next, but for now I am happy to cross this off the bucket list.
